The popularity of his songs live on and Spencer recently accepted an award from BMI in London for over 3 million broadcast performances of "Gimme Some Lovin."
Starting out with degrees in modern languages (with fluency in German, French and Spanish), Spencer had left his teaching career to began his music career in Birmingham with drummer, Pete York and brothers, Steve and Muff Winwood.

A tight, lively and professional act, they have a following of hundreds of loyal fans, and usually make for a fun & profitable show, even for smaller venues.
The individual players also currently perform with a variety of popular bands in and around Southern California, such as The Tricia Freeman Band, Erich Munzner and Good Fortune, and Pandora's Box. (see www.TriciaFreeman.net and www.GoodFortuneBand.com )
These veteran musicians have done session work on CDs, and have toured around the country, performing with such musicians as Otis Rush, Walter Trout, Loggins & Messina; opened for Blue Oyster Cult, Mahogany Rush, Grand Funk Railroad, and Eric Burdon, to name a few.
